Sweet Potato Mash with Smoked Maple Syrup and Butter

Sweet Potato Mash with Smoked Maple Syrup and Butter

This creamy sweet potato mash gets a smoky-sweet twist from Sugar Bob’s Smoked Maple Syrup — handcrafted in Vermont and cold-smoked over hardwood for bold, real flavor.

INGREDIENTS (Serves 4):

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (or Garlic & Herb Butter Roll for extra flavor)
  • 2 tbsp Sugar Bob’s Smoked Maple Syrup
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or milk, for a lighter mash)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Prep the potatoes: Place cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt.
  • Boil & soften: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, until fork-tender.
  • Mash it up: Drain well and return potatoes to the pot.
  • Add the good stuff: Stir in butter, Sugar Bob’s Smoked Maple Syrup, and cream. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  • Finish strong: Season with salt and pepper to taste, then drizzle with a touch more smoked maple syrup before serving.

Pro Tip: Try a sprinkle of smoked sea salt or chopped pecans on top for texture and a hint of campfire flavor.
